At some point you will likely need to write an "About Me" or short business profile for your band, artwork, service or other small business. This article provides three important tips for writing an "About Me" profile that also promotes your small business, along with a fill-in-the-blanks writing template.
Tip #1: Keep it short and sweet. People have short attention spans these days, particularly when they are reading something online.
Tip #2: People love a story. So describe how you got into your business and what you love (or hate!) about it. Just write it as if you were telling someone at a party about your business.
Tip #3: Your goal is to get people interested in your business and hopefully continue reading about your business. In order to do that, you have to answer the WIIFM ("what's in it for me") question that is in every customer's mind.
Tip #4: In any "about me" or business profile, the most important sentence is the one that answers the WIIFM. It tells the reader what benefits they can get from purchasing your product or service.
Below are two different fill-in-the-blanks templates for writing a short business personal profile. Feel free to use or edit these template to fit your needs.
Template Example 1
As the owner/operator of ________________ (your business name, linked to your website), I provide ___________ (your service or product) to ____________ (your customers) so they can ____________ (what your customers do with your service or product). I got into this line of business in ______ (year) when _________ (tell how you got started).
My favorite part of having a ___________ (type of business) business is ____________, because it allows me to ____________ (why you enjoy it). Also, _________________ (a part of your job) can be a lot of fun! When I'm not working on ___________ (your business name, linked to your website), I like to _________ (your hobbies).
Template Example 2
___________ (company name) provides ___________ (the product or service you provide) to __________ (your customers). _____________ (company name) was established in _____ (year), and since then has served over ________ (number) happy customers. Company founder _____________ (your name) is a qualified ____________, _______________, and ____________ (your expertise or qualifications) who brings over ____ years experience to this work. He/She started the company because ____________ (why you started the company - put the emphasis on solutions you provide to customers).
To summarize, a good "about me" or personal profile is short, tells a story, and let's the reader know exactly why they might be interested in hiring the individual or the company. Do these three things and you will write a great "about me" or business profile that gets the results you want.

What does this mean for the Wall St index? Chairman Bernanke seems confident of a rise. Will you be amongst the first to place a bet and benefit from this potential rise in Wall St share prices?

Seasoned bargain hunters will be familiar the tactics of eBay, but newbies can easily get carried away with the fun of bidding and end up parting with more money than they planned.
For every apparent great deal, there's a seller trying to make a profit, so can you ensure you always buy for less?
I blogged last week about the tips sellers should employ to get the highest prices, so familiarising yourself with this guide as a buyer will help you wise to their tricks. The key to finding the best bargains on eBay is hunting out the listings that may go un-noticed by other bidders, as this cuts interest and keeps prices low for you to swoop in and grab a deal.
Look locally
Sellers often specify that large and heavy items such as furniture or building supplies for example, won't be delivered and must be picked up in person. Many people don't like to travel far, either because they can't be bothered, don't have a vehicle or it's not large enough for the item in question. This is great for the buyer as lack of competition tends to keeps prices low.
Rather than trawling through listings, simply visit localbargainfinder.co.uk - enter your post code and the distance you're prepared to travel, and it will return relevant nearby listings.
Exploit mistakes
Misspelt listings will not return when people search for items with the correct spelling, leaving thousands of items hidden from view. This means they'll attract fewer bids and savvy buyers can snap up a great deal. A couple of sites help buyers track down these items, including Fatfingers, which searches for typos and spelling mistakes and Goofbay which also has powerful search tool to find items with no bidders.
Find no bid items
Often sellers will start auctions at 99p, hoping the low price will attract attention and spark a bidding war. In actual fact, many items go unspotted and remain at this super-low price. To take advantage, Lastminute-auction.com trawls for ebay listings that are due to finish within an hour but are still under £1.
Hold your nerve. When you've spotted something you want to buy, hold off on bidding until the very last minute. Bidding early will spark interest and competing buyers may also bid which will drive the price up. I usually wait until the last 30 seconds to enter a bid – at the highest I'm prepared to pay – giving no time for others to outbid me.
If don't have access to the internet when an auction is due to end, consider signing up to the one the 'sniper' websites that automatically bid on your behalf. Here, you simply sign up, enter an ebay item number and the highest price you're willing to pay. Goofbay.com has a free auction sniper, or alternatively, the more reliable Bidnip.com charges roughly 17p per auction won.
Research 'best offers'
Some sellers consider 'best offers' where you contact them with a proposed offer and they'll consider whether to accept it. This is a common tool used by business sellers who may sell the same item often, and it is possible to find out what prices they've already accepted, and arrange your best offer accordingly.
Click on advanced search, enter what you want and select the best offers box in 'show results'. When you've found a product that accepts best offers, click to view the sellers other items. On the next page, select completed items and you'll see all the items that seller has already sold with the prices they have accepted.

Start And Run Your Own Successful Music Business
Are You Producing Great Music But Still Not Earning Any Money?
STOP!!
It is Time To Get Down To BUSINESS!
1. Design a solid and realistic Record Label Business Plan.
2. Follow the plan and revise it as technologies and opportunities change.
3. Submit the plan to investors and other financial sources to secure funding.
If you are an Artist, Band, or already are an Independent Record Label owner, do you have a proper business plan in place to run a successful company which allows you to make a full time income from your music?
A proper business plan could be defined as a document that summarizes the operational and financial objectives of a business and contains the detailed plans and budgets showing how the objectives are to be realized.
In other words, you must have a document that shows you (or others)that you have carefully though out what you plan to do in order to make your Music Business venture a success.
For anyone intending to start a serious profitable music business (with the intent of actually making money) writing this document is a vital first step.
If you have already started to run a Music Business, the least you can do to give your venture a fair chance is to have solid ideas down on paper.
Also, should the opportunity arise for you to submit a plan to financial sources in order to secure funds, would you not want to at least have a realistic and professional looking business plan in place?
